“Misquoting Jesus”         by Bart Ehrman

This book is not for the “spiritually squemish”. It will make you dig deeper into the faith, or, well, I wouldn’t want to pass judgement. Dr. Ehrman is a well-known scholar on textual critisism. What that means is he disects the words. He challenges the reader to draw conclusions for themselves, but leaves no stone unturned. It is a fascinating book, I had a hard time putting it down. He has written many others which I also plan on reading. It is a must read!

“Twelve Ordinary Men”      by  John MacArthur

This book takes scripture and history and brings the 12 disciples to life. It shows how God can take the ordinary, and sometimes, the outcast, and use them to perform the miraculous. I came away with a much greater sense of how much Jesus was up against in His ministry, as well as, how much of a total transformation the disciples went through to get to “the church”. It’s a must read!

Those sound like interesting books. I’ll have to look into them.
